I LOVE KIYOTAKA ISHIMARU
call me the most extra, overdramatic, unnecessary person on the entire face of the universe but i would do absolutely any and everything for the sake of ishimaru. though it hasn’t been the longest time, i’ve known good and well that he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me since february 23, 2017. and there will never be a point in my life where i doubt that he is the most gorgeous boy inside and out!!! in both the game and the anime, ishimaru was (in a literal sense) a moral compass to his peers despite the conditions they were enduring, he stayed calm and level-headed and tried his very best to help the others in finding a way out. he offered nothing but support and advice to everyone around him, and within the span of the 4 episodes he was in he stole my heart and locked it up!! i don’t like calling characters perfect, i think every character has flaws and that’s what makes them human. yet ishimaru manages to be so human and so perfect simultaneously!! he surpassed any level of ethereal that i can imagine, he is so very smart and funny and talented and hardworking and i could go on and on but there simply aren’t enough words in any dictionary of any language that could describe how much of an utterly perfect person he is.
as much as i wish i could just ignore it, ishimaru deserved sooo much better than what he got. i can’t possibly forgive celestia for being so cruel as to accuse him and manipulate him and altogether cause his demise. ishimarus death was like a slap in the face from kodaka himself, he built up such an amazing design with an amazing personality and a beautifully crafted backstory just to kill him off at his most vulnerable state. ishimaru had so much potential to grow even more and overcome the grief of his only friends death, he had opportunity to learn from the killing game and leave it stronger and more perfect than ever. he could continue to guide and inspire people, to lead them out of despair with his friends for mondo and everyone elses sake. to keep it short i’m just really dissatisfied with how kodaka treated his character, i’m not super picky but i just wish he used ishimaru’s implicity to his advantage and made him a survivor :(((
despite this, i will continue to cheer ishimaru on in heaven because i know for a fact he is happy and healthy and i am extremely proud of him!!!
